The project with the working title “Tischplatte” (Tabletop), a classic realtime strategy game (RTS), will receive €2.6 million in funding, while the cooperative action-shooter with the working title “Schießeisen” (Firearm) will receive €2.2 million.
"We are very thankful to receive financial support of the games grant. KING Art has been successfully developing games in Germany for 25 years. Our game “Iron Harvest” has sold millions of copies and won the “Best Game of the Year” award at the German Computer Game Awards. The funding will enable us take the next steps," says Jan Theysen, Creative Director at KING Art.
“Tischplatte” and “Schießeisen” are the two largest and most
ambitious projects we have tackled to date. We are excited to prove that we can
develop games of this scale and do it - as is our tradition - together with the
fans and for the fans.
